My name is Fred E. Mathelier Jr. and I am an artist fascinated by creative collaboration.
To fight boredom as a kid, I developed a habit of daydreaming. Those daydream stories quickly outgrew my memory, so I wrote them down. Some time later they outgrew my vocabulary, so I began to draw. Now, it seems that they're outgrowing myself entirely.
Once, my own imagination was the most interesting thing to me. Now, what interests me is interpreting and producing art from the collective imagination of a team.
I graduated RISD during the COVID-19 pandemic with a BFA in Animation, and since have gathered an increasing number of rewarding experiences in studios and on freelance.
